An Ancient Order, A Living Brotherhood
Atascosa Lodge No. 379 has gathered the men of South Texas in brotherhood for more than a century and a half — first in Benton City, and since 1909, in the railroad town of Lytle.
We are a fraternity dedicated to the building of character, the practice of charity, and the pursuit of truth. Through every change in the world around us, our purpose has remained the same: to take good men, and by the working tools of the Craft, to make them better.
If the principles of Masonry — faith, charity, and the unceasing improvement of one's self — resonate with you, we invite you to come and see for yourself. No man is ever solicited; the petition must be made of one's own free will and accord.
Three Great Principles
Brotherly Love
By the exercise of brotherly love, we are taught to regard the whole human species as one family — to aid, to support, and to protect one another.
Relief
To relieve the distressed is a duty incumbent on all men, but particularly Masons, who are linked together by an indissoluble chain of sincere affection.
Truth
Truth is a divine attribute, and the foundation of every virtue. To be good men and true is the first lesson we are taught in Masonry.
